Miss Dianne

Miss Dianne began dancing at the age of five at Miss Bonnie’s School of Dance in Del Rio, Texas. After moving to Buda, Miss Dianne took dance at Barbara Lynn’s Dance Studio, became a Jack C. Hays Highstepper in 1989 and served as an officer on the dance team for her junior and senior years in high school. Miss Dianne graduated from SWT in May of 1997 with a degree in Exercise Sports Science-Dance with teacher’s certification. Throughout her college years she continuously taught at Barbara Lynn’s Dance Studio/Footnotes Dance Studio, while also teaching for Sunshine Generation Performing Group, Hermann Son’s Dance in Lockhart and Children’s World Learning Center. Miss Dianne has training in tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, gymnastics, Cecchetti, modern dance and pointe. This will now be her seventh year as the owner of Dance Unlimited. Miss Dianne really enjoys teaching, dancing and choreographing.

Miss Shawn

Miss Shawn has been teaching at our studio for several years. She has training in tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, gymnastics, pointe and modern. She began dancing when she was very young and has taken dance from Barbara Lynn’s Dance Studio, Footnotes and is a member of Dance Unlimited’s Company. She graduated from Hays High School in 1998 and is currently attending Austin Community College. Miss Shawn has attended many dance conventions and has taken several dance classes in college. Miss Shawn is wonderful with children, a great choreographer and talented dancer.

Miss Beth

Miss Beth will be our pointe instructor this dance year. She grew up in Tyler, Texas where she studied ballet, jazz, and tap under Utah Ground, pre-Broadway teacher to Tommy Tune and Sandy Duncan. Miss Beth also received training in ballet and modern at TCU, SWTSU, and NWLSU. Since moving to San Marcos in 1974, she has acquired numerous credits choreographing local productions, particularly the SMHS Choir’s annual musicals from 1981 to date. Miss Beth has been giving private lessons in her home studio since 1979. This will be her third year as our pointe teacher at Dance Unlimited.

Miss Amy

Miss Amy is our Hip-Hop instructor and has been since last summer. Her dance background includes teaching dance at Barton Junior High and attending several dance conventions and classes. Before that she was a Highstepper and officer on the drill team and is currently a member of the Dance Unlimited Company. When Miss Amy is not dancing she has an in home daycare and spends lots of time with her two beautiful daughters. The dancers here have really enjoyed taking class this past year with her and have learned a lot.

Miss Jenny

Miss Jenny will be one of our gymnastic instructors this year and our cheer teacher. Her cheer background includes being a Hays High School Cheerleader for four years and training at Sardo’s Cheerleading. During her years as a cheerleader she has taught several cheerleading workshops with young children. She has also had seven years of dance and gymnastics before and during her high school years. Miss Jenny graduated from Hays in 2002 and has be attending the University of Texas. She has been a part of this studio for many years and will be a great addition to our staff.

Miss Naomi

Miss Naomi will be teaching combination classes this year. She has subbed many classes this past year and really enjoyed it. She has been dancing here (Barbara Lynn’s, Footnotes and Dance Unlimited) for thirteen years and has been on our competition/performing team for six years. Miss Naomi has studied tap, ballet, jazz, pointe, lyrical and hip-hop at our studio and has also attended a few dance conventions. Miss Naomi is a very talented dancer and is wonderful with young children. In the fall, she will be a junior at Hays High School.

Miss Sally

Miss Sally will be teaching clogging classes at our studio. She has been clogging since 1977 and has instructed many children and adults through the years. She learned to clog in North Carolina where every school has its own clogging team. She directed and founded the Capital City Cloggers (a children’s clogging team) who won numerous awards and danced on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. Her individual, duets and teams have won numerous awards over the years. She now comes to Buda to teach the traditional art of North Carolina style clog dancing better known as flat footing.
